Eaton Corporation Engineer in MM, India

Job Description

The person in this position will be responsible for design and development of switching devices products under Commercial Distribution Products and Assemblies (CDPA). He will be responsible for designing electrical and mechanical component, releasing the CAD models, BOM, participate in prototyping development and testing as per UL98. He must have good understanding of IEC, NEMA, and other applicable standards.

• Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations

• Modify existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, and market requirement.

• Uses Inventor to create component detail models and modifies models of existing products to meet new customer requirements. Supervises detail design in completion of detail drawings and packages.

• Responsible for some system engineering analysis. Completes / reviews analysis on components through the use of Mat lab, MathCAD or Excel calculations.

• Support Creation of new designs and advanced methodologies to support the Technical Roadmap of the organization.

• Review Supplier Document Requirements List documents based on product requirements, customer specifications or industry standards like UL, IEC, NEMA etc.,.

• Review, design proposals and documentation required to define & control products.

• Participate in design reviews, both customer and internal as required

• Review reliability predictions, and Design Failure Modes and Effects analysis (FMEA) and structural/thermal/CFD results.

• Participate in multi-discipline concurrent development and corrective action teams.

• Coordinate and support prototype manufacturing of products.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)


Required: Electrical Engineer



• 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical design

• Experience in new product development, design

• Experienced and able to work with cross functional teams

• Knowledge of various manufacturing process like Sheet metal fabrication, molding, turning, machining, welding

• Experience with stringent timelines, and support of multiple projects in parallel.

• Fluent in English and able to communicate with team overseas

• Experience in Autodesk Inventor/ProE/AutoCAD

• Select engineering techniques to solve problems and make design recommendations
