Eaton Corporation Lead Engineer - System Validation Architect in MM, India
Position’s main focus will be responsible for the design of test procedures, scripts, software tools and fixtures for the validation of embedded software/firmware in electronic motor control, motor protection and monitoring systems. Execute tests, document test results and validate defect corrections. Have responsibility of leading test programs from inception through the full development cycle to product release for sale, continuing as may be required by customer applications. The ideal System Automation Architect candidate will have extensive experience with developing test automation frameworks and testing data-driven applications. This includes
Lead Project, process, and overall technical execution on software activities of product development.
Collaborate with global product engineering team and perform software development activities during project execution.
Involved in technical reviews including architectural and detailed design reviews
Train, develop and motivate colleagues on technical aspects demonstrating ‘Right to Left’ thinking (starting with consideration for end user).
A. Perform integration, functionality, system, regression, load and acceptance testing using manual methods and testing tools.
B. Research and develop advanced automated test suites to exercise our world-class applications in an effort to increase test coverage and reduce testing costs.
C. Analyze defects and root causes to identify defect patterns and improve engineering.
D. Develop technology roadmap aligned with business strat. plans for the group..
E. Mentor others on the team on automation techniques and best practice patterns.
F. Assisting the team in executing the agile process and delivering products in an iterative manner.
G. Analyze and decompose a complicated software/firmware system and design a strategy for automated testing.
H. Advocate for testability during the design process, allowing for better automation.
I. Collaborate in design and code reviews.
J. Continually search out new technologies and processes to improve quality assurance functions
K. Work closely with product management, software engineering, and operations within an agile framework to test new features as they are being developed.
L. Look for opportunities to expand/grow business, build customer relations, influence, negotiate to set realistic expectations with customers.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)*
Required Bachelor’s / Master’ s degree (Computer Science, Electrical / Electronic Engineering). 10+ years of manual & automation testing experience. Experience in developing custom automation tools a must. Solid understanding of agile principles and the software development life cycle. Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery processes. Expert knowledge of Lua, Python, and C programming languages. Experience writing clear and concise bug reports, test plans, and test cases. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A demonstrated career commitment to testing and/or quality assurance is preferred. Should show a familiarity with state-or-the-art testing theory and practice, and be able to discuss applications in previous positions
