Work with the front end business team to support new / sustaining business opportunities

  • Determine if repair is within site/supply base capability

Support Costing Effort:

  • Determine component costs (provide ‘similar to’ parts to the quote team)

  • Look for opportunities to reduce costs

Establish working processes/norms:

  • SOW negotiations, agreement, and approval

  • Establish project time line

  • Set project deliverables

  • Keep meeting minutes / assign actions

  • PMA/DER Development*

Responsible for the development of technical data for the design

  • Charted inspection drawings (reverse engineering)

  • Coordinate internal/external lab activity for materials analysis

  • Coordinate / conduct reverse engineering inspection

  • Establish test procedures

  • Coordinate / conduct component / assembly testing

  • Responsible for component and assembly drawings

  • Researching Engine manuals, IPC’s, Service bulletins, etc.

  • Writing Requirements Specs, QT Plans, QT Procedures, QT Reports, Process Specs or any other requirements-based document

Responsible for oversight of the repair process development

  • Repair Flow Chart

  • Consulted on teardown and assembly procedures (ME primary)

  • Consulted on tooling design (ME primary)

  • Ensure processes restore hardware to airworthy conditions.

  • Establish Service limits

PMA / DER packages

  • Prepare package to FAA /DER requirements

  • Coordinate FAA/ DER technical reviews

  • Update/Modify packages per FAA/DER feedback.

  • Develop Customer versions of the PMA/DER packages

  • Release Approved Data into ENOVIA

  • Sustaining Engineering*

  • Coordinate ECR/ECO changes for DER/PMA approved hardware / submit to FAA/regulatory agency for approvals

  • Other Functions*

  • Utilize DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR

  • Creation or modification of 3D models and drawings

  • Sustains process for design standards and procedures

  • Utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to resolve technical challenges

Maintain credible communication practice with all stakeholders

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)


Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering

Desired: Master’s Degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering



o 5+ years’ experience or ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with 2+ years of relevant experience in aftermarket/ reverse engineering/ inspection, preferably in aerospace industry

o Experience working in lab with instruments conducting reverse engineering inspections

o Experience in creation of engineering documentation

o Experience in handling Design for Manufacturing, DFMEA & DVPR

o Proficiency in CAD tools; Preferably ProE / CATIA and experience with PLM tool (preferably Enovia)

o Hard working ability and desire for excellence in executing projects

o Strong and effective communication skills

o Root Cause Analysis


  • Proficient in DFSS tools like FMEA.FMECA, Monte Carlo Analysis etc.

  • Product cost analysis and cost management (will be added advantage)
